The strongly medialized triumph of artificial general intelligence (AGI) continues unabated. Because such applications are trained on immense amounts of data, their development is resource-intensive and requires high investments. Therefore, it is foreseeable that only a few global players will dominate the field.
This dominance has among others two consequences that call into question the digital sovereignty of users, individuals as well as companies:
- Since AI solutions are usually available as an online service, users must be willing to transfer their data to the cloud, which can open doors to access by unauthorized third parties.
- AI solutions represent a black box. Their results are unexplainable and therefore cannot be validated independently. This lack of transparency my encourage misuse and manipulation.
The above challenges in the use of artificial general intelligence represent both a challenge and a market opportunity for Swiss solution providers. The question is how to "Swissify" the application of AGI while at the same time sustainably fostering the necessary trust in this future technology.
We want to explore this together in a co-creation workshop, discussing the criteria for the introduction of a Swiss AI label, with the goal of making the use of AGI safe and transparent for Swiss (and possibly also international) users.
